THE ESSENCE OF SUCCESS

Updated: Apr 27, 2023

A path towards authentic success is in your own words.

Success is a topic that is so personal, yet universal. It's something that everyone wants to achieve, and that's totally understandable! However, it's funny how many of us define success based on material possessions. It's like we're constantly chasing after something that comes with a price tag instead of looking within and asking what success really means to us.

Have you ever taken a moment to sit down and write out what success looks like and feels like for you?

Sure, getting that dream car or big house might make us feel accomplished, but there's so much more satisfaction in knowing who we are and what success means for our authentic selves. Have you ever taken a moment to sit down and write out what success looks like and feels like for you? Defining success in this way is far more rewarding than anything that can be purchased with money.

It Changes

As you go through life, you may come across people who seem to have it all – money, cars, homes – yet they still feel unfulfilled. They might seem successful to others, but they don't feel that soul whole. This is where it's important to remember that success is a personal vision that one wants to live out through experiences. Success is not just about what we have, but also about who we are and how we experience life.

For Me...

Success feels like ease and comfort.

Success is the ability to create, make mistakes, and learn from them without feeling rushed or pressured.

Success feels like comfortable clothes that hug my curves.

Success feels like the air that leaves my mouth as I laugh with pure joyful bliss.

Success feels like the rub on the shoulder that speaks everything without a word.

Success feels like my way in harmony with your way with love.

Success feels like the bite of a ripe plum with its sweetness lingering in my mouth.

Success feels like the change in the wind that moves my sail to have a flow in this world.

Success feels like the warmth of the sun on my back and a cool breeze over my sweaty brow.

Success feels like kisses of hope and good luck on my cheek that send me off to new exciting and frightening experiences.

Success feels like warm and wet palms that hold the hand of a lover and refuse to let go.

Success feels like seeing the energy flow of money moving into the pond that supports the ecosystem of friends and family.

Success feels like walking on sand and leaving my mark on the land in the form of footprints.

Success feels like the shades of the strawberry moon dancing over the rippling tide.

Success feels like a smile deep within my soul.

Success feels like someone washing my hair with love and care.

Success feels like emptiness and fullness all at one time; emptiness of burdens and fullness of peace.

Success feels like me being my authentic self just as it should be.

Success looks like saying goodbye to what cannot be and saying hello to the inevitable. - Coach Hunt

As I continue to define who I am and what I want to experience, my vision of success grows in ways that I never imagined. It's a journey that's constantly evolving, and I invite you to ask yourself the same questions I asked myself: How do you define success? What images of success are available to you, and where do they come from? What does success feel like to your heart, and what are you doing to feel that success? Why is being seen as successful important to you?

Take some time to journal through these questions, and you may just find out that your current road to success is not yours at all. With new awareness, you can cease trotting a purposeless path and choose a new direction that aligns with your destiny. Success is personal, and most definitely achievable – and it's up to you to define it on your own terms.
